New trailer + Demo

Hi again.
There is a new trailer of Vapor Mayhem.
In fact, this video is the one that the game plays when the player is idle at the menu screen.



But that's not all.
You can download the game from here.

The IGF student contest deadline ends at 15th november and we are making few improvements.
So we may upload a newer version with better 2D art and easier Quick Times.
But right now, you can play with the version we submited to Art Futura.

As we commented in our last post, Vapor Mayhem was delivered to the Art Futura videogame contest.
Now we know we've been selected for the final.

Art Futura Delivered

Well, in one month we are delivering the final work to the master.

But this weekend we have submitted or current version to the Art Futura contest, the most important digital art contest in Spain, that takes place in Barcelona.

So this is the video that we submitted to them. We had a time limit of 4 minutes, so the video is cut into pieces.

Funny and very apropiate lyrics, but I cannot imagine playing our game while listening to this.

Well, next videogame milestone at univesity is at the end of april, so expect big news soon.

Steampunk inspirations

This one goes for those of you who enjoy watching any good steampunk or sci-fi ilustration.
CG Society is a reputated site where great digital artists around the world show their work.

Some months ago they anounced the "Steampunk Myth & Legends Contest", where people were suposed to submit vapor, coal and iron versions of their favourite story/tale.

Now it has finished and the winners have been anounced.
Check them out because they all are great!

Programmer art in action!

Looking for more concepts?
Well that's not exactly what you've been waiting for ;p

But no good game comes without a little programer art dosis. ;)

So here we go!

The one in the top is original 100%, the one below is a copy of another robot wich I found interesting.


I loved the shape of the arms, and the diferent alignment of the shoulders of the last one, and the old diver helmet of the other (closer to the steampunk style).

So finally they became one!


So enjoy or laugh at them while waiting for the real enemies concepts.
